Blake “Top Dogg” Rashad is a nationally recognized dog expert, public speaker, author, and trainer. His passion for dog training began at the age of 12 when he started training neighborhood dogs. A professional trainer later recognized his talent and invited him to work at a local training facility, where he discovered his natural ability to understand canine behavior.

Blake enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he trained military K-9s around the world. After completing his military service, he joined the Atlanta Police Department and trained the city’s first three drug dogs. These dogs were responsible for major drug seizures and contributed to making Atlanta streets safer. He also spent four years working with the Red Dog Team.

After his police career, Blake focused on helping disabled military veterans and

writing children’s books

In 2011, Blake and his wife Sheila founded the Top Dogg K-9 Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to training service dogs for disabled military veterans.

 

Blake states that despite being bitten many times during dog training, he believes each incident happened because of something he did wrong and considers them learning experiences.
